FERRO presented at the Watershed Restoration Network
FERRO was presented at the “Watershed Restoration Network” (Vesistökunnostusverkoston aamukahvit), held online on 25 April 2025. The event brought together over 100 participants, including researchers, practitioners and stakeholders engaged in Finnish lake restoration and water management initiatives, providing a platform for knowledge exchange and discussion of ongoing projects.
Olga Tammeorg (University of Helsinki) gave an overview of the FERRO project, highlighting the activities of Work Package 9 and emphasising the project’s approach to lake restoration through empirical research, nutrient removal, recovery and reuse. The presentation offered insights into FERRO’s methodologies, current progress and the potential impacts of its work on freshwater ecosystem management.
The session enabled direct engagement with a wide audience, fostering dialogue on best practices, research findings and practical applications. Overall, the event strengthened FERRO’s visibility within the Finnish lake restoration community and reinforced collaboration opportunities with regional stakeholders and practitioners.
