FERRO holds its First Online General Assembly meeting

Between 3–4 December 2024, the FERRO project hosted its first online General Assembly meeting, bringing together consortium members from all partner organisations to reflect on progress and discuss the next steps for the project.

This two-day virtual gathering marked an important milestone for FERRO, as partners from across Europe came together to share updates from the first six months of the project. Each of the ten Work Packages presented their individual progress reports, outlining the current status of their activities as well as planned developments for the months ahead.

The first day of the meeting focused on individual presentations from each partner, covering key achievements in lake restoration, sediment removal, and sediment reuse at the various FERRO demonstration sites. The presentations provided a comprehensive overview of the project's diverse activities and demonstrated the strong collaborative effort among the partners.

The shared insights sparked valuable discussion during a lively Q&A session, creating space for knowledge exchange and further alignment across the consortium. On the second day, the meeting shifted towards a more reflective format, under the theme “Reflections on Progress.” This session allowed participants to delve deeper into shared learnings and explore opportunities for greater integration across Work Packages.

The FERRO consortium looks forward to the next General Assembly meeting, which is scheduled to take place in May 2025 in Leipzig, Germany. This in-person gathering will mark the first anniversary of the project, offering a chance to celebrate the progress made so far and to set the course for the next phase of development.
