FERRO celebrates two years of lake restoration
This June, FERRO is celebrating its second birthday, making another year of innovative methods and tools for nutrient recovery and reuse in agriculture. Focused on tackling eutrophication, the project has dedicated the past two years into developing approaches and technologies to support lake restoration and nutrient catchment.
Since its launch, the FERRO consortium has organised and participated in numerous meetings, workshops, and conferences, both online and in person. These events have provided valuable opportunities for networking, collaboration, and knowledge exchange, all of which have contributed significantly to the project's progress.
Over this period, FERRO has achieved several important milestones, made possible through the dedication and expertise of its partners. One of the project's key accomplishments was the launch of an Open Call, through which financial support is provided to Third Parties undertaking lake restoration activities. You can learn more by watching our video or by reading more here.
FERRO has also produced its first project video and published its inaugural policy brief, highlighting the importance of restoring lake ecosystems and supporting evidence-based decision-making. In addition, a growing collection of FERRO publications is now available through the newly established Zenodo community.
As the project continues to advance, a new social media campaign was started, helping to raise awareness and maximise the impact of its work across Europe.
Let’s wish our team Happy 2nd Year of hard work and dedication, into a mutual goal - recovery and reuse of phosphorus and other nutrients to help mitigate eutrophication while addressing global food security concerns.
